Eli Alexander King 26 Mar 1858 — a $37.75 loan at 10% interest It is not clear what this loan was for, but it appears to have been taken out on 26 Mar 1858. The note-holder was Hiram N. Long, a local attorney. [See Missouri Reed's "infant" estate administration document here, which was also handled by Attorney Long.] Missouri and Eli Alexander were married when this note was written; see their marriage certificate here. The note was filed on 7 Jun 1858 with the Madison County Probate Court, and that also seems to be the repayment date. The loan seems to be one in a series of several, as it is labeled "No. 4." |
