1851 will.
Introduction

The Reeds likely came from England, although no specific immigration information is, as yet, available.

Reeds appear in Mecklenburg County (Charlotte) North Carolina before the Revolution.  From this group, brothers William and Joseph Reed came to the Belleview Valley area in southeast Missouri in 1798 — now in Iron County, just west of Madison.  The area was then part of Spanish Louisiana.  France regained control for a short period, and in 1803 sold its enormous Louisiana colony to the new United States.

Iron County information provided by Jeanette Henson McClure
in materials she contributed to the book
McClard / McLard / McLaird and Related Families, 1767 - 1996;
9th Edition, 1996.

Information on Daniel L. Reed's descent line provided by
Donna and Ryan Reed, 2010.
